ABOUT Sindhi Green Masala Chicken RECIPE

One of the most flavourful dish from the Sindhi Cuisine. Chicken cooked with mint and coriander sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chicken 1 kg
  2. Onions 3-4 (chopped)
  3. Mint Leaves 1 cup
  4. Coriander Leaves 1 to 1 1/2 cups
  5. Green Chillies 4-5
  6. Garlic 2 pods
  7. Tomatoes 2
  8. Yogurt 1/2 cup
  9. Coriander Powder 1 tbsp
  10. Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
  12. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Oil 5-6 tbsps

Instructions

  1. Grind onions, green chillies, mint leaves, coriander leaves, garlic and tomatoes to a coarse paste
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add the ground paste and saute it for 4-5 minutes. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder.
  3. Add the chicken. Saute again for a few minutes.
  4. Whisk the yogurt and add to the curry.
  5. Add sufficient water to cook. Finally add the garam masala and cook it for 3-4 whistles.
  6. Serve with parathas or Sindhi khichdi.
