Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 200 gms Turkey berry
  2. 3/4 Cup cooked Toor dal
  3. 1 onion sliced
  4. 1 tomato, chopped
  5. 1/4 cup grated coconut
  6. 2 slit green chilies
  7. 2 tbsp Sambar powder
  8. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 10 cloves of garlic
  10. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1/2 tsp White Urad dhal
  12. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  13. 1 tsp Oil
  14. 1 sprig curry leaves
  15. 1 tsp ghee

Instructions

  1. Chop turkey berries into two pieces, soak in water and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker , splutter mustard seeds . Add urad dal and cumin seeds and saute until dal turns golden brown. Add curry leaves and mix well
  3. Add sliced onions and garlic cloves, saute until onions are translucent
  4. Add tomatoes and green chilies and saute for a minute.
  5. Finally add the sliced turkey berries with half the quantity of salt required for the curry
  6. Stir and close the lid without cooker weight. Reduce the flame to medium and allow it to cook for 3 minutes.
  7. Now add grated coconut, sambar powder, turmeric powder and cooked toor dal. Add 1/3 cup of water, mix well and check for seasoning.
  8. Close the lid with cooker weight and cook for 2 whistles.
  9. Swirl ghee on the top of the curry. Serve hot with rice/roti

Can I use butter in the place of ghee?
