ABOUT Aloo Posto RECIPE

A bong' s favourite dish aloo posto with daal and bhat (plain rice).

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 5 medium sized potatoes cubed
  2. 3 tablespoon posto (poppy seeds) paste.
  3. 4 green chilies slit
  4. 4 pinch kalo jeere (onion seeds)
  5. 4 tablespoon mustard oil
  6. Salt to taste.

Instructions

  1. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan
  2. Add kalo jeere (onion seeds), cubed potatoes and salt and mix well
  3. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally
  4. Once the potatoes are soft and cooked, add the posto paste.
  5. Add little water and mix the potatoes and posto well.
  6. Add green chilies and remaining mustard oil. Mix well
  7. Aloo post is ready to be served with dal bhat for a perfect bong lunch.
