Lauki Kofta Curry

Ingredients to make Lauki Kofta Curry

  • lauki - 500 gms
  • besan/corn flour - 1 cup
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • For the gravy:
  • tomato - 4
  • Green chilli - 2
  • ginger - 1 inch
  • curd - 1/2 cup
  • Chopped coriander - 1 tbsp
  • oil for frying
  • jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • haldi - 1/4 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp

How to make Lauki Kofta Curry

  1. Grate the lauki after peeling it and squeeze the water out of it.
  2. Add besan, salt, chopped green chilli, grated ginger, red chilli powder, coriander powder and make a dough.
  3. Make balls out of this mixture and fry on a medium flame. Keep them aside.
  4. Make paste of the tomato,green chilli, ginger together and keep aside.
  5. Heat oil in a pan, add in the cumin seeds. Next, add the tomato paste and cook till it starts separating from the ghee.
  6. Now add in all the spices along with the curd and saute for 2-3 minutes. Adjust the consistency of the gravy by adding water.
  7. Let it boil and add the koftas, let this simmer and cook for 4-5 mins.
  8. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.

though the koftas were good, the tomato taste of d gravy was overpowering... gng to try dis wid a onion coconut gravy..
