Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 500 gm Cowpea beans
  2. 2 medium sized potatoes chopped
  3. 2 tbsp oil
  4. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 1 large size onion chopped
  6. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  7. 2 medium sized chopped tomato
  8. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  9. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  10. 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  11. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  12. Salt as per taste
  13. Water- 1+1/2 cup
  14. 1/2 tsp garam masala

Instructions

  1. Cut the beans into 2 inch pieces
  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in pressure cooker and splutter 1 tsp cumin seeds
  3. Add chopped onions and 2 green chilies,Saute until onions brown
  4. Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute
  5. Add 2 chopped tomatoes and mix well
  6. Stir Fry until tomatoes are tender
  7. Add beans and chopped potatoes
  8. Add all spice powders and salt. Mix well
  9. Saute for 2-3 minutes over low heat
  10. Add 11/2 cups water
  11. Add 1/2 tsp garam masala and mix well
  12. Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles over medium heat until tender
  13. Once steam is released, open the lid and stir well
  14. Serve hot with chapatis or plain rice
