ABOUT Spring Onion Pakoras RECIPE

Quick and tasty snack prepared from healthy green vegetable, require few ingredients tastes amazing. You can skip green chillies if kids don't like or use red chilli flakes instead.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chopped spring Onions (green) - 1 bunch or 2 cups tightly packed
  2. Thinly sliced spring Onion bulbs - 3/4th cup or whole 4-5 small
  3. Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  4. Garam masala - 1 tsp
  5. Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
  6. Minced garlic 1/2 tbsp
  7. Finely chopped green chilies - 2-3
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Gram flour / besan - 1/2 - 3/4 cup
  10. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. ASSEMBLE ALL INGREDIENTS: FINELY CHOPPED SPRING ONION (GREEN) - 1 BUNCH OR 2 CUPS TIGHTLY PACKED THINLY SLICED SPRING ONION BULBS - 4-5 SMALL OR 3/4 CUP CHOPPED GREEN CHILIES - 2-3 MINCED GARLIC - 1/2 TBSP CUMIN SEEDS - 1 TSP GARAM MASALA - 1 1/2 TSP HING- 1/2 TSP GRAM FLOUR - 1/2 - 3/4 CUP OIL FOR FRYING SALT TO TASTE
  2. IN A LARGE BOWL. ADD CHOPPED SPRING ONION (GREEN) AND SLICED ONION BULBS.
  3. ADD SALT AND RUB THE SALT OVER SPRING ONIONS USING FINGERTIPS AND PALM.
  4. ADD CHOPPED GREEN CHILIES, MINCED GARLIC, GARAM MASALA, HING AND CUMIN SEEDS. MIX WELL. COVER, KEEP IT ASIDE FOR 30 MINUTES.
  5. SLOWLY ADD GRAM FLOUR AND MIX WELL
  6. IF REQUIRED ADD MORE GRAM FLOUR AND MIX WELL
  7. DROP SPOONFUL OF MIXTURE IN HOT OIL . FRY OVER LOW MEDIUM HEAT TILL GOLDEN BROWN AND CRISP FROM BOTH THE SIDES.
  8. DRAIN EXCESS OIL FROM PAKORAS ON KITCHEN TOWEL. SERVE WARM
