ABOUT Chaunk Wale Hare Matar RECIPE

A very famous winter snack. Savoured as snack, side dish and main dish. The green peas tastes best during winters. So i wait for green peas in this weather.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Green peas 2 cups
  2. Oil/ ghee 1 tsp
  3. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt to taste.
  5. Red chili powder 1 tsp
  6. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  7. Sugar 1/4 tsp
  8. Chopped onion 2 tsp ( garnish)
  9. Juice of 1/2 Lemon

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds
  2. Add peas, red chili powder, garam masala, sugar and salt. Mix well
  3. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or till peas are soft and cooked.
  4. Squeeze lemon juice. Toss well. Garnish with chopped onion.
  5. Savour the yummy dish with evening tea or paratha.
