SHAKSHUKA

Ingredients to make SHAKSHUKA

  • eggs 4
  • onion chopped 1
  • tomatoes big 2
  • tomato puree 2 tbsp
  • Red pepper,yellow pepper 1/2 cup
  • cumin pwd 1 tsp
  • cinnamon pwd 1/8 tsp
  • salt 1/2 tsp
  • Baby spinach 1/2 cup
  • garlic 3 cloves
  • A pinch of sugar
  • Freshly ground pepper 1/2 tsp
  • olive oil 1 tbsp

How to make SHAKSHUKA

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet/pan. Add garlic,chopped onion and fry it little.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 1 min.put puree in it and stir well for another min.
  3. Add spinach,peppers,salt cumin pwd,pepper and mix well
  4. Break eggs on the onion tomato mix,keeping some gap between them.
  5. Cook covered for 15 -20 min,till yolks are cooked well.
  6. Remove from fire and sprinkle cayenne pepper,cumin corriender leaves,and serve with breads

My Tip:

Cumin powder is the flavour of shakshuka. If you need yolks little runny.then cook onion tomato paste for little more time and then add eggs.
