Japanese Roasted Rice Tea

Trust me this black tea with roasted rice makes an interesting beverage to kick start the day. Roasted rice simmered in boiled water and tea bags gives an excellent aroma to this simple drink.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Brown rice
  • 2 tsp English breakfast tea leaves
  • 2 cups of boiling water

Recipe Preparation

  1. Roast the brown rice in a pan in medium flame until it gets browned evenly. Let it cool completely and keep aside.
  2. Add the roasted rice, tea bags or tea leaves in a tea pot filled with the boiling water and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea to pour in cups and serve immediately.
