Ingredients to make Diet Chivda

  • Bhajka poha - 2 1/2 cup (readily available in market)
  • Roasted peanuts - 3tbsp
  • Roasted chana dal or dalia - 2tbsp
  • Green chili - 2 cut into long pieces
  • curry leaves - 4-5
  • mustard seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  • cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Fine sugar - 1/2 tbsp
  • Shev - 1/2 cup
  • oil - 1 tbsp for poha + 1/2 tbsp for tempering
  • salt to taste.

How to make Diet Chivda

  1. TAKE 2 .5 CUPS BHAJKA POHA OR DRY ROASTED POHA
  2. ADD 1 TSP TURMERIC POWDER & POHA IN 1 TBSP HOT OIL
  3. MIX GENTLY TILL POHA TURNS PALE YELLOW
  4. ADD SALT, 1/2 TSP CHAT MASALA, STIR & COOK FOR 2-3 MINS, TAKE OFF HEAT
  5. ADD 2 SLIT GREEN CHILLIES, 4-5 CURRY LEAVES IN 1/2 TSP HOT OIL, SIZZLE, TAKE OF HEAT
  6. ADD 1/4 TSP EACH OF MUSTARD & CUMIN SEEDS, 2 TBSP ROASTED SPLIT CHANA DAL
  7. ADD 3 TBSP ROASTED PEANUTS, 1/2 TSP EACH OF CUMIN & CORIANDER POWDER
  8. ADD THE TEMPERED & ROASTED TADKA INTO THE ROASTED POHA
  9. ADD 1/2 TBSP FINE SUGAR & 1/2 CUP SEV, MIX
