ABOUT Kerala Mutton curry RECIPE

Mallu flavour spicy meat gravy that goes well with rice ,chapati, naan or any kinda tiffin.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250 g Mutton cubes (bone in)
  2. 10 shallots sliced
  3. 1/2 tomatoes sliced
  4. Curry leaves 1 sprig
  5. 1 green chilli slited
  6. 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  7. 3 tsp Coconut oil
  8. 3 tbsp water
  9. To Dry roast :
  10. 1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  11. 1/2 tbsp fennel seeds
  12. 2 Dry Chilli
  13. 2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
  14. 3 cloves
  15. 3 cardamom
  16. 1 " cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the coriander seeds , fennel seeds, dry chilli , cloves , cardamom and cinnamon for few minutes.
  2. Switch off the stove and add the chilli powder.
  3. Powder it, once it comes to room temperature.
  4. Add few tsps of water to the grinded masala and make smooth paste.
  5. Marinate mutton with this masala.
  6. Set aside.
  7. In a pressure cooker add the water and oil.Keep the stove off until your cooker is loaded with all the ingredients.
  8. Top it with shallots and tomatoes.
  9. Add the marinated mutton above it.
  10. Add curry leaves.
  11. Close the cooker and switch it on.
  12. Pressure cook until the meat is done.
  13. It takes around 15 min.
  14. Serve hot .
