Honey Chillie Potatoes

Ingredients to make Honey Chillie Potatoes

  • 3 large potatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tbs oil
  • 1 tbs soya sauce
  • 1 tbs chillie sauce
  • 1 tbs tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp chillie powder
  • 4 tbs cornflour
  • 1 tbs ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbs honey
  • Salt to taste

How to make Honey Chillie Potatoes

  1. Peel potatoes and cut vertically. (Like you cut for French fries)
  2. In a bowl take cornflour, chillie powder, salt and make a paste with water.
  3. Dip and coat the potatoes with this batter and deep fry till golden brown and crisp.
  4. In a wok heat oil and saute the onion till soft. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  5. Add the soya and chillie sauce and tomato ketchup. Add the remaining cornflour paste if any.
  6. Once the sauce thickens, add honey and stir. Add the fried potatoes and mix till well coated.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve immediately.
My Tip: Even rice flour can be used instead of cornflour.
