Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fish 4 pieces (any i used surmai)
  2. For fish marination-
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 5-6 curry leaves
  7. For curry-
  8. Oil as requeired
  9. 3 small onion
  10. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  11. 1 bay leaf
  12. 3 cardomon
  13. 3 cloves
  14. 2 tsp cumin seeds
  15. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  16. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  17. 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  18. 2 tsp fish masala powder
  19. Salt to taste
  20. 2 tsp yogurt
  21. 3 cranberry/kokum
  22. Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil and shallow fry the fish pieces.
  3. Remove in plate and keep aside.
  4. In same oil chop 2 onions.
  5. On low flame add bay leaf cardomon cumin seeds and cloves saute.
  6. Let it cook.
  7. Mean while make paste of one onion and ginger garlic paste.
  8. Then in cooked onion add all powder spices and saute.
  9. Add water and let it cook.
  10. In a bowl smooth the yogurt.
  11. Once you see oil separating and smell is aromatic add yogurt and let it cook on low for 5-10 min.
  12. Add in kokum or cranberry.
  13. Once you see oil separating add the fish pieces.
  14. Spread the gravy and let it simmer for about 2-3 min.
  15. Remove and garnish with coriander leaves.
  16. And serve.
