ABOUT Butter chicken RECIPE

Butter chicken needs no introduction. It's one of my favourite dishes. It's favourite with my family and friends too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boneless chicken 250gm (cut into bitesize pieces )
  2. Onion 1 medium sized
  3. Tomatoes 2 no. medium sized
  4. 3-4 green cardamom
  5. 1 piece maze (javitri)
  6. 2 green chillies deseeded and julienned
  7. Kashmiri chilli powder 2-3tsp
  8. Coriander powder 2Tsp
  9. Cummin powder 1 tsp
  10. Garam masala powder 2tsp
  11. Kasoori methi 2 tbsp
  12. Garlic ginger paste 2-3 tsp
  13. Juice of 1 lemon
  14. Curd 1 cup
  15. Sugar 2 tsp
  16. Salt to taste
  17. Butter 2-3 tblsp
  18. Oil 2-3tbsp
  19. Fresh cream 1 cup
  20. Coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken pieces in ginger garlic paste 1 tsp, kashmiri chilli powder 1tsp, juice of 1 lemon,curd 1-2 tsp. (Keep aside for 30 minutes
  2. Heat 2 tsp butter in a pan.
  3. Add cardamom and maze (javitri )
  4. Cut onions lengthwise and add to kadhai
  5. Cut tomatoes lengthwise and add to kadhai
  6. Saute and let it cook till tomatoes soften
  7. Allow to cool
  8. Heat oil in a separate pan and add marinated chicken pieces
  9. Fry till golden brown. Keep aside
  10. Make a fine paste of tomato and onions
  11. Heat remaining butter in a kadhai
  12. Add remaining ginger garlic paste, julienned green chillies and ground tomato and onions paste and saute
  13. Add coriander powder, cummin powder, kashmiri chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, kasoori methi and saute for 1 minute
  14. Add remaining curd salt and sugar
  15. Add 1 cup of water and simmer on a low heat for 2-3min
  16. Add fresh cream and chicken pieces
  17. Cook for 2-3min
  18. Serve hot garnished with fresh coriander leaves and fresh cream
