Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. FOR THE GALLETE BASE:
  2. Flour 1.5 cups
  3. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt 1/4 tsp
  5. Butter 9 tbsp
  6. FILLING FOR ALOO CHANA CHAAT: 4 TO 5 POTATOES BOILED
  7. 1/2 CUP BLACK CHANA [SOAKED OVER NIGHT AND BOILED]
  8. SALT
  9. DHANIA [CORIANDER] POWDER - 1/2 TSP
  10. ZEERA [CUMIN] POWDER - 1/2 TSP
  11. CHAAT MASALA POWDER - 1/4 TH TSP
  12. FOR GARNISH : GREEN DHANIA CHOPPED [CORIANDER LEAVES]
  13. 1 ONION CHOPPED
  14. IMLI [TAMARIND] CHUTNEY ACCORDING TO TASTE

Instructions

  1. FOR THE GALLETE:FLOUR 1.5 CUP, 1/2 TSP SUGAR, 1/4 TSP SALT,9 TBSP BUTTER CUT INTO CUBES AND 4 TO 5 TBSP COLD WATER
  2. FILLING FOR ALOO CHANA CHAAT: 4 TO 5 POTATOES BOILED, 1/2 CUP BLACK CHANA SOAKED OVER NIGHT AND BOILED, SPICES- SALT , DHANIA PWDR, ZEERA PWDR, CHAAT MASALA PWDR.
  3. FOR GARNISH : GREEN DHANIA CHOPPED , 1 ONION CHOPPED , IMLI CHUTNEY ACC TO TASTE
  4. METHOD: TAKE THE FLOUR AND RUB THE BUTTER IN IT.
  5. RUB TILL IT'S ALL CRUMBLY
  6. ADD SALT SUGAR AND START ADDING COLD WATER 1 TBSP AT A TIME.
  7. ADD 4 TBSP AND FORM A DOUGH.
  8. THE DOUGH SHOULD BE SOFT
  9. TAKE THE DOUGH AND KEEP IT IN A ZIPLOC BAG AND REFRIGERATE FOR AN HOUR
  10. FILLING: TAKE THE POTATOES REMOVE THE SKIN AND MASH IT WITH A FORK
  11. ADD ALL THE DRY SPICE POWDERS
  12. ADD THE BOILED CHANA
  13. TEMPERING: TAKE OIL IN A PAN ADD RAI , ZEERA , CURRY LEAVES AND GREEN CHILLIES
  14. ADD THE TEMPERING TO THE POTATO MASALA
  15. REMOVE THE DOUGH FROM THE FRIDGE
  16. FLATTEN THE DOUGH AND ADD AJWAIN SEEDS ON IT AND FLATTEN AGAIN.AJWAIN WILL GIVE THE INDIA FLAVOUR TO THE GALLETE
  17. PUT THE CHANA ALOO MIXTURE
  18. SPREAD THE MIXTURE AND ADD MORE CHANA
  19. START FOLDING THE GALLETE FROM THE CORNERS
  20. READY TO GO IN THE OVEN
  21. BAKE IN A PREHEATED OVEN AT 180 DEGREES FOR 15 MIN AND LAST 5 MINS AT 220 DEGREES
  22. ALOO CHANA CHAAT GALETTE ALL READY TO BE GARNISHED
  23. GARNISH: ADD CHOPPED ONIONS, CHOPPED DHANIA AND IMLI CHUTNEY
