Kefta

Ingredients to make Kefta

  • 225 g minced Beef
  • 225 g minced Lamb
  • 1/3 cup Lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Coriander leaves chopped
  • 2 small Onion chopped finely
  • 1 Onion chopped finely
  • 8 Green olives(seed removed)
  • 4 Garliic cloves peeled
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
  • Salt to taste

How to make Kefta

  1. Place the minced beef and lamb in a bowl. Mix thoroughly until uniform mixture is formed. Marinate in fridge for 30 mins to 1 hour.
  2. Put the marinated mixture in a strainer and squeeze out excess moisture.
  3. Blend coarsely onions, garlic, olives in a food processor.
  4. Mix this with meat mixture then add salt , oil, parsley, coriander leaves, pepper, cumin powder.
  5. Mix everything until everything mixes in well.
  6. Make small balls of the mixture and broil on grill in the oven or on coal.
  7. Broil until its brown.
  8. Serve it with rotis and rice.
My Tip: Serve with hummus and tzatziki
