ABOUT Minced Mutton Gravy RECIPE

This is a perfect side dish recipe for any main course meal. It is a tenderized meat gravy that will melt in your mouth.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Minced meat- 1/2 kg
  2. Tomato- 3, big sized
  3. Ground spices- 1 tsp (cinnamon, javithri, cardamom and cloves)
  4. Ginger-Garlic paste- 1 tsp
  5. Red chilli powder- 1 tbsp
  6. Coriender powder- 1/2 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  8. Ghee/ Oil- 2 tbsp
  9. Cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  11. Curry leaves- 1 strip
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Coconut milk- 1/2 cup ( optional)

Instructions

  1. Blanch the tomatoes, then remove their skin and grind into a fine puree. In a pressure cooker, heat ghee, then add mustard seeds to splutter, then the curry leaves, chopped onion. Saute it well then add in the ginger-garlic paste and cook it well.
  2. Once the raw smell disappears, add the cleaned minced mutton and saute till it's color changes. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, spice powder, turmeric powder, toss it well. Next, add in the tomato puree and saute it well.
  3. Pour in the coconut milk if needed or water and salt as per taste. Close the lid and cook in a pressure cooker till 4 whistles blow.
  4. Once its cooked and the steam releases on its own, transfer this dish into a bowl and serve it warm with a garnish of coriander leaves.

if we are adding coconut milk..thick milk is needed or thin one?
