ABOUT carrot halwa pops RECIPE

A new innovation with the usual old carrot halwa , for the kids . Making pops with the halwa and coating them with chocolate to make them more enticing to gobble up healthy halwa during winters. A moms innovation to feed healthy recipes to kids in winters

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 4 big carrots
  2. 1/2 litre Full Cream Milk
  3. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  4. 100 gm Jaggery
  5. 1 tbsp ghee
  6. 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  7. 1/4 cup heavy cream
  8. 3/4 cup desiccated coconut

Instructions

  1. First of all to make halwa, peel and grate the carrots.
  2. In a thick bottom kadai or pan , take the milk and let it come to a boil, then add the carrots to it.
  3. Let the carrots cook well in the milk, keep stirring in between and also add the cardamom powder to it.
  4. When all the milk dries up, add jaggery cut into pieces to it and mix till jaggery melts.
  5. Then add the ghee to halwa and sauté well for 3-4 mins and then switch off the gas and let it cool.
  6. To make the ganache, take a microwave safe bowl and add chocolate chips and cream to it.Microwave it for 30 seconds pulse till the cream reaches a hot but not boiling stage
  7. Cover it with a lid and keep for 30 seconds, then mix nicely till the chocolate melts.
  8. Make small balls with the halwa and insert a straw or stick in between and keep them in freezer to set.
  9. Let them set for 1-2 hrs and then take them out and coat them with white chocolate ganache.
  10. Now coat them with desiccated coconut well from all sides.
  11. Keep them in freezer again for sometime to set and then serve.
  12. Not only kids but adults would equally enjoy these innovative pops.
