ABOUT Gajar ka Halwa RECIPE

An evergreen winter dish that is a legendary Indian recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 kg carrot (bright red)
  2. 1/2 litre milk
  3. 1/2 kg sugar (you can lessen this amount)
  4. 1 tsp cardomom powder
  5. 1/2 bowl of cashewnuts and raisins
  6. 1 tablespoon desi ghee
  7. 200 gms of khoya

Instructions

  1. Clean the carrots and crush them.
  2. Take a kadhai. Put in the crushed carrots and milk and cook on a high flame. Make sure to stir in between.
  3. Once the milk dries, put in 1 spoon of desi ghee and roast it for 2 mins. Put in the sugar and cook for 10 mins while stirring.
  4. Once it is cooked, put in the cardomom powder, cashews and raisins and stir. Then turn off the gas.
  5. Pour this in a bowl, garnish it with the remaining dry fruits, khoya and serve.
