ABOUT Ash gourd coconut Curry RECIPE

Kumbala moru curry is a simple side dish from the South Indian cuisine. Kumbala also known as Ash Gourd, winter melon and moru means curd so basically this dish is prepared using curd and coconut. For me, boiled rice and any coconut gravy is Comfort food. To make this dish, we just have to make a Coconut masala with the few spices add curd and then some tempering.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ash gourd (Cut into small pieces)
  2. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Curd 1/2 cup
  4. *To make Coconut masala
  5. Coconut 1/4 cup
  6. Green chilies 3
  7. Cumin 1 teaspoon
  8. Ginger (Small piece)
  9. *For tempering
  10. Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  11. onion (1 small)
  12. curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Peel chop and wash the ash gourd pieces and cook it along with turmeric powder and salt add enough water
  2. Grind all the masala ingredients, And keep it ready
  3. Once the vegetables are cooked add this mix and let it cook for few minutes on low flame. Check for salt
  4. Beat the curd and then pour it into the curry. combine well and switch off the flame.
