Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Jaggery 2-3 tbsp
  2. Dry dates(chhuara) 4-5 chopped
  3. Milk 1 cup
  4. Oats 1/2 cup
  5. Cardomom powder 1/4 tspn
  6. Ghee 1 tbsn
  7. Water 1 +1/2 cup
  8. FOR GARNISH:
  9. Almonds 3
  10. Grated coconut 1 tspn
  11. Raisins 6-7

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pan and add jaggery and dry dates into it and cook till the jaggery melts and get dissolved in the water.
  2. Now add ghee then add oats into it and stir till the oats get cooked and become thick.Meanwhile in another pan boil the milk.
  3. When the oats are cooked,add cardamom powder and switch off the gas and gradually add warm milk into it.Make sure that the milk is warm and not too much hot or cold which make the chances of milk curdling higher.
  4. Mix the cooked oats with milk.It is important that the flame is switched off while mixing jaggery and milk together as the acidity in the jaggery will curden the milk if they boil together.
  5. Garnish the dish with almonds,raisins and grated coconut.
