ABOUT Rasam/Pepper Rasam RECIPE

South indian famous rasam, spicy , hot and delicious, to be served with some steamed rice and papad.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Pepper-1tbsp
  2. Jeera-1/2tbsp
  3. Garlic flakes- 5
  4. Coriander seeds-1tsp
  5. Curry leaves- few
  6. Tamarind- small lemon size
  7. Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  8. Coriander leaves
  9. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. SOAK TAMARIND IN WATER
  2. IN A MIXER, ADD PEPPER, CORIANDER,JEERA,GARLIC
  3. ADD FEW CURRY LEAVES
  4. GRIND IT TO A COARSE PASTE
  5. EXTRACT TAMARIND JUICE
  6. HEAT OIL, CRACK MUSTARD
  7. ADD HING POWDER & GROUND MASALA
  8. LIGHTLY SAUTE IT
  9. POUR THE TAMARIND JUICE,TURMERIC POWDER
  10. DILUTE WITH SOME MORE WATER
  11. ADD SALT
  12. ADD SOME CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES.KEEP IN LOW FLAME,WAIT FOR IT TO BOIL
  13. WHEN IT STARTS TO BOIL, SWITCH OFF
  14. ADD SOME MORE CORIANDER LEAVES
