Laddu (Boondi)

Ingredients to make Laddu (Boondi)

  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar(adjust acc. to taste)
  • 6 Green cardamoms
  • 1 tbsp pistachios
  • 1.5-2 tbsp melon seeds (optional)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp cashew nuts chopped
  • water as required
  • ghee (for frying)

How to make Laddu (Boondi)

  1. Sieve gram flour well. Add 2 tbsp water and 1 tbsp oil. Mix well so that no lump is left. Keep it aside for 15 mins.
  2. Take a pan, add sugar and 1 cup of water. Cook till one thread consistency is attained. Sugar syrup is ready.
  3. Heat the oil in the frying pan, hold a ladle with small holes above the pan about 6-7 inches and slowly pour the gram flour mixture with the help of spoon over the ladle.
  4. Fry until boondi turns golden brown.
  5. Add cardamom powder, cashew nuts, melon seeds and pistachios in the sugar syrup. Then add boondi it.
  6. Make laddus of the boondi mixture while it is still hot/warm.
  7. Laddus are ready to serve .
