Traditional bone marrow soup is a high soothing broth for winter season.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. bone marrow - 12 pieces
  2. ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  3. coconut milk - half cup (optional)
  4. salt - to taste
  5. To paste:-
  6. pepper powder - 2 tsp
  7. coriander powder - 2tsp
  8. cumin powder - 1 tsp
  9. turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  10. garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  11. onion medium size chopped -1
  12. tomato medium size chopped - 1
  13. finally for tempering :-
  14. gingelly oil - 1-2 tbsp
  15. chopped shallots - 10
  16. curry leaves - 2 arc

Instructions

  1. Rinse the bone pieces thoroughly and drain it.
  2. All the ingredients mention above under paste,add in a blender with little water paste nicely and keep aside.
  3. In the pressure cooker add bones, ginger garlic paste, salt, ground paste and one half litres of water. Mix well.Pressure cook for 30 minutes in a low medium flame.Switch off.
  4. After pressure released open,if you need more soup add 2 cups water and allow it to boil.Adding half cup coconut milk is optional.Check the salt.
  5. Heat oil,add chopped shallots and curry leaves, fry till golden colour and transfer to the soup.
  6. Our traditional healthy tasty bone marrow soup is ready.
  7. You can serve hot with hot plain rice, rotis, parathas, appam,idiyappam, dosa or even with idlis.
