Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup rice
  2. 1 cup moong dal
  3. Haldi 1/2 tsp
  4. Jeera 1 tbsp
  5. Salt
  6. Pinch of Hing
  7. Ghee 2 tbsp
  8. 10 curry leaves
  9. Garlic cloves 5
  10. 1 tomato diced
  11. Dhana jeera powder 2 tbsp
  12. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  13. Hot water 2 cups
  14. Coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. First wash rice and dal 3 times. Add 5 cups of water to it. Add salt, jeera, hing , haldi and pressure cook for 4 whistles. Not to worry even if water seems more.
  2. In a kadhai add ghee, jeera. When it splutters add haldi, hing,curry leaves, crushed garlic. Add tomatoes. Now add salt, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder and saute.
  3. Now add cooked dal rice in batches along with hot water little by little. Mix together. It should be semi liquid consistency.
  4. Lastly add dollop of ghee n chopped coriander. Great for kids n grownups.
