ABOUT Idiyappam & Coconut Milk RECIPE

Idyappam is the best soft food for Babies after 6months,and teethless elders, and carring women.coconut milk good stomach cleaner when we drink on empty stomach and good heal stomach and mouth ulcers,after 2 years kids can take. start with spoon 3 days watch them if it k for them it helps u. Praganent and elders can drink this limit. Good combo ,tasty and healthy recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 Cup Plain Rice Flour
  2. 1/2 cup water
  3. 1 tsp veg. oil
  4. Salt as per taste
  5. For coconut milk
  6. 200 grams fresh shredded coconut
  7. 1/2 cup suger or jegarry
  8. 4 caradamom powder
  9. Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and add in a cup of flour to the pan. Roast the flour on medium flame until the flour is very hot to the touch. Remove and set aside.
  2. Take a pressure cooker and add in 1.5 cups of water, a teaspoon of oil and half a teaspoon of salt. Cover and cook for one whistle. Remove the pressure manually.
  3. Off the stove.Immediately add in the roasted rice flour and mix well to combine. Cover the cooker, put the whistle on and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  4. We are just resting the dough covered. Rest for 15 minutes.After 15 minutes, open the cooker and mix the dough.
  5. Prepare small oblong balls and load it in the idiyappam press. Press the idiyappam strings onto idli plates.
  6. After 10 minutes of steaming, rest the idli plates for 5 minutes before removing the idiyappam.
  7. Coconut milk
  8. Take sherred coconut and run it in a blender/mixie adding 1 cup of water. Strain.
  9. The strained milk is what we call as the first milk or thick milk. Run the strained coconut bits again in the blender with 1 cup of water for a minute. strain.
  10. The strained milk is called second milk or thin milk. Set aside.Peel the cardamom and remove the black seeds.
  11. Make a powder with the inner black seeds in a mortar and pestle. Set aside.Mix one cup of water with half a cup of jaggery.
  12. Add in the cardamom powder and the outer skin of the cardamom. Keep it on the stove on medium flame. Let the jaggery melt completely.
  13. Remove off stove and strain to remove the impurities from the jaggery.
  14. Take a pan and add in the jaggery water, a pinch of salt and the second extract of thin coconut milk.
  15. Switch off the flame.Add in the first extract of thick coconut milk and mix well. Serve with idiyappam.
