ABOUT Green Chicken RECIPE

This is a semidry dish with the flavour of mint and corinader. A healthy yet yummy alternative to the usual chicken 65 or chilli chicken.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken - 250 gms
  2. Onion - 1 cubed
  3. Green chilli - 2 slitted
  4. Ginger garlic paste- 1 tablespoon
  5. Clove - 1
  6. Cinnamon - small piece
  7. Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Salt - as needed
  9. Oil - 2 tablespoon
  10. To grind to a paste::
  11. Mint leaves - 1 fistful
  12. Coriander leaves - 1 fistful
  13. Green chilli - 2 to 3 as needed
  14. Peppercorns - 1/2 teaspoon
  15. Jeera - 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash the chicken pieces well with little tumeric powder and water.
  2. Grind the mint,coriander, green chillies, pepper and jeera with litte water to a smooth paste.
  3. Heat a kadai with oil, add clove, cinnamon and fennel seeds. Add the cubed onions and saute till transparent.
  4. Add the slit green chillies and stir. Add the ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell leaves.
  5. Add the Ground paste and chicken along with 1/4 cup water (or as needed to cook chicken) and cover with a lid.
  6. Let it cook for round 20 minutes or till the chicken is cooked. If there is water remaining, keep the flame in high and saute well till it reaches a semi dry consistency.
  7. Serve with biriyani/ roti!.
