Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken 1/2 kg
  2. Rice 3 cups
  3. Chopped onions 1
  4. Chopped tomato 1
  5. Whole spices( black carrdamom,cloves,peppercorns,cinnamon stick)
  6. Salt
  7. Coriander leaves
  8. Mint leaves
  9. Butter 5 tsp
  10. Saffron strands dipped in 1/4 cup milk
  11. Fried onions 1/3 cup
  12. Fried cashews 1/4 cup
  13. Yogurt '1/2 cup
  14. Chilli powder
  15. Turmeric powder
  16. Coriander powder
  17. Cumin powder
  18. Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  19. Green chilli chopped 3
  20. Lemon juice 1 tsp
  21. Mustard oil 1 tsp
  22. Desi ghee 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with 1/4 cup yogurt,lemon juice,ginger garlic paste,chilli powder ,mustard oil and salt and keep it aside for 3 hours
  2. After the chicken has marinated, put desi ghee in cooker
  3. Add ginger garlic paste,chopped chilli,chopped onoin and tomato
  4. Fry for a while then add turmeric ,chilli,coriander,cumin powder
  5. Now add rest of yogurt
  6. When it starts leaving ghee add chicken and salt
  7. After frying for sometime pressure cook it
  8. But it should be partially cooked
  9. Now prepare rice
  10. Wash rice and cook it in a pan with whole spices and salt
  11. Rice is also partially cooked
  12. Now drain the rice
  13. Now we have to make layer of rice and chicken
  14. Take the vessel in which it can be steam cooked or can be microwave
  15. Put first layer of rice then saffron soaked in milk, chicken,coriander leaves,mint leaves,fried onions,fried cashews
  16. Now repeat the layers
  17. Fr steam cooking take a dough make a rope and seal the lid of container and put it on gas with slow flame for 5 minutes
  18. Or can be microwave by keeping the container in microwave with a cling film for 5 minutes
  19. Your hot spicy biryani is ready
  20. Serve it with burrani raita
