shakarkandi chaat is guilt free. No oil, no sugar, no ghee. Easily available in winters in Delhi streets and can be prepared within few minutes at home.

Shakarkandi ki chaat

Ingredients to make Shakarkandi ki chaat

  • 2 pieces Shakarkandi
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 lemon juice
  • Chopped corriander
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder (optional)
  • 1 finely chopped green chilly
  • Chopped onions (optional)

How to make Shakarkandi ki chaat

  1. Boil the shakarkandi in a pressure cooker. Do not overboil. You can also roast it in a oven. Peel them and cut it into pieces.
  2. Toss together shakarkandi and other spices in a bowl.
  3. Sprinkle lemon juice and garnish with chopped corriander.
  4. Your bowl of chatpati chaat is ready to munch. You can make it more interesting by adding mint coriander chutney and imli chutney.

My Tip:

Prefer baking or roasting shakarkandi rather than boiling to maintain the nutrient portion.

Arti can u tell me as to how much temp. is needed for baking sweet potatoes nd for how much time they r baked ? By boiling they become tasteless as all the sugar gets dissolved in water.
