ABOUT Healthy daal rice muthiya RECIPE

These muthiyas are made from leftover mung daal, rice and various flours and spices.Very healthy and soft in texture.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Leftover rice-1 cup
  2. Leftover mung daal-1 cup
  3. Wheat flour-1 cup
  4. Gram flour-2 tbsp
  5. Semolina-1 tbsp
  6. Sorghum flour/jowar flour-2 tbsp
  7. Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  8. Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  9. Coriander powder-1 tsp
  10. Ginger chilli paste-1 tsp
  11. Asafetida-1 pinch
  12. Salt
  13. Soda-1 pinch
  14. Dried fenugreek leaves-1 tbsp
  15. Onion-1
  16. For tempering:
  17. Oil-1 tbsp
  18. Mustard seeds-1 tsp
  19. Sesame seeds-2 tsp
  20. Curry leaves-8 -10 leaves
  21. Garlic-1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. ADD A CUP OF WHEAT FLOUR.
  2. ADD 2 TBSP GRAM FLOUR.
  3. ADD 1 TBSP SEMOLINA.
  4. ADD 2 TBSP SORGHUM FLOUR/JOWAR FLOUR.
  5. ADD 1 TSP GINGER GREEN CHILLI PASTE.ADD 1 CHOPPED ONION.
  6. ADD 1 CUP LEFTOVER RICE.
  7. ADD 1 CUP OF LEFTOVER DAAL.
  8. ADD SALT.
  9. ADD 1/2 TSP TURMERIC,1 TSP CHILLI POWDER,A PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA AND 1 TSP CORIANDER CUMIN POWDER.
  10. ADD A TEASPOON OF LEMON JUICE.
  11. ADD A TBSP OF DRIED FENUGREEK LEAVES/KASURI METHI.ADD A TEASPOON OF SUGAR.
  12. ADD A PINCH OF SODA AND 2 TBSP OIL.
  13. NOW KNEAD A SOFT DOUGH.NO NEED TO ADD WATER.
  14. HEAT A STEAMER.
  15. GREASE YOUR PALMS AND MAKE MUTHIYA.
  16. ARRANGE ALL MUTHIYAS IN STEAMER AND CLOSE LID.
  17. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES OUR MUTHIYA WILL BE READY.REMOVE FROM STEAMER.
  18. CUT INTO PIECES.
  19. IF YOU WISH YOU CAN EAT THESE LIKE THIS ONLY WITH GROUNDNUT OIL.
  20. FOR TEMPERING TAKE A TBSP OF OIL IN A PAN.
  21. ADD 1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS.
  22. ADD 2 TSP SESAME SEEDS,8 TO 10 CURRY LEAVES AND 1 TBSP GARLIC.
  23. NOW ADD MUTHIYA PIECES.
  24. LIGHTLY TOSS AND MIX THE TEMPERING WITH MUTHIYA.
