Fermented Rice batter recipe

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Raw rice : 2 cups
  2. Grated Coconut  : 1 cup
  3. Urad dal  : 3 spoon
  4. Cooked rice: 1 cup
  5. Salt
  6. Baking soda : 1 pinch

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice, urad dal for 2 hours in water.
  2. Wash the rice three to four times and drain thoroughly.
  3. Grind the raw rice, urad dal, grated coconut and small amount of cooked rice while grinding the batter.
  4. Cover and keep  aside for fermenting for 7-9 hours.
  5. The batter will increase in volume the next day.
  6. Add salt and one pinch baking soda and mix well.
  7. Heat kadai and Pour batter in the pan and rotate the pan in circular manner to get the circle shape of appam.
