ABOUT SAVOURY PANCAKE ( Using Left-over Rice ) RECIPE

An excellent breakfast idea ....and also making use of the left-over rice in a different way..

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Wheat flour ... 1 cup
  2. Cooked rice ... 1/2 cup ( I used left-over rice)
  3. Green chillies .. 1-2 (finely chopped)
  4. Coriander leaves .. Handful
  5. Grated ginger ..... 1 tsp
  6. Whole coriander seeds .. 1 tsp (you may also use Cumin seeds)
  7. Asafoetida ........ a small pinch
  8. Baking powder ... a small pinch
  9. Red chilli powder .. as per your taste, since we have added green chillies
  10. Salt .... to taste
  11. Oil ... for making pancakes
  12. Water ( as needed)

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour with all the mentioned ingredients except oil., adding as much water as needed to make a thick batter.
  2. Using a ladle, spread the batter on a griddle / tawa.
  3. Pour little oil with a spoon to fry the pancakes to a crispy texture.
  4. Serve hot with any pickle / chutney / sauce.
