Vanilla cake with strawberry compote

Ingredients to make Vanilla cake with strawberry compote

  • Flour 2 cups
  • Sugar 1.5 cups
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp soda powder
  • 1 .5 tsp vanilla essence
  • 100 gm butter or 1/2 cup oil
  • 3 tbsp strawberry compote

How to make Vanilla cake with strawberry compote

  1. Sieve all the dry ingredients. Cream butter at room temp. along with the sugar which has to be powdered.
  2. Add in the egg one by one beating at intervals. Add vanilla essence.
  3. Gently fold in the sieved flour alternating with a tbsp of milk. Mix well gently.
  4. Transfer to a greased oven and bake in a preheated oven for 35- 45 mins or till a skewer inserted comes out clean. Cool for 10 min and invert onto a cooling rack
  5. Once the cake is cool cut it into two horizontally and spread just enough strawberry compote to hold it together. Pour the rest of the compote over the cake to gently cover the entire cake and decorate with sprinkles if required.

My Tip:

Butter nd eggs have to be at room temp
