ABOUT Kanda Poha RECIPE

Poha or pohe is a quick traditional breakfast or snack food made of beaten rice or flattened rice from the Maharashtrian and Gujarati cuisines. Poha is made using beaten rice, onions, peanuts and green chilies. It is usually eaten on its own along with a cup of tea or coffee.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250gm flattened rice
  2. 1 chopped onion
  3. 2 chopped green chilies
  4. 2 tablespoons peanut
  5. 1 sprig curry leaves
  6. 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  7. 1 teaspoon sugar
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  10. 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  11. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  12. 1 tablespoon fresh chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in kadhai, splutter mustard seeds when seeds stop spluttering add curry leaves, green chilies n saute for 30seconds.
  2. Add peanuts n cook for minute on low medium flame. Add onion n saute till it transparent.
  3. Add turmeric powder and salt, mix it. In between take strainer wash poha in running water n add it in kadhai n keep mixing. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add sugar n mix it and pour lemon juice n mix.
  5. Kanda Poha is ready to serve.
  6. Serve this kanda Poha with hot cup of tea or coffee.
