ABOUT Rawa Upma RECIPE

Rava Upma (Suji Upma) is a popular traditional breakfast dish in India. It is nutritious, tasty and very easy to make at home by mixing and cooking roasted rava (suji, semolina) and sautéed vegetables in water. This simple south Indian traditional breakfast recipe is awesome.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup roasted semolina (rawa)
  2. 2&1/2 cup water
  3. 1 roughly chopped onion
  4. 1 sprig curry leaves
  5. 2 green chilies cut into small pieces
  6. 1 tablespoon peanuts
  7. 5 nos chopped cashews
  8. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  9. 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  10. Salt as required
  11. 2 tablespoons roughly chopped coriander leaves
  12. 3 tablespoons cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in wok and splutter cumin seeds n mustard seeds.
  2. Add curry leaves, onion, cashews, peanuts n green chilies let it cook till onion get transculent.
  3. Add semolina, salt n water mix it well and keep sauteing n mix coriander leaves.
  4. Serve in plate n garnish mint leave n serve hot with your fav chutney, sauce or lemon.
