ABOUT Palak Puri RECIPE

Spinach is highly nutritious vegetable which can be consumed in many forms, available world wide and used on large basis. They help in reducing blood pressure, improving bone health, lowering risk of developing asthma, cancer preventing, very good for pregnant women and kids. In this recipe I have used wheat flour, Spinach puree and crushed cumin. These puris taste awesome and goes well with any curry or even hot tea. Healthy and nutritious good for everyone. A must try recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Wheat Flour – 1 ½ cup
  2. Palak/Spinach Puree– ¾ cup
  3. Crushed Jeera – ½ tbsp
  4. Garlic paste – 1 ½ tsp or 3-4 cloves
  5. Green chillies – 2 coarse paste
  6. Thick curd – 1tbsp
  7. salt as per taste
  8. Oil – 1tbsp + 2cups for frying
  9. Water- ¼ cup or as required for kneading
  10. Serving - Any veg curry or hot Tea, Coffee

Instructions

  1. Wash, blanch and blend Spinach leaves and garlic cloves into smooth puree.
  2. In a bowl take wheat flour, salt, oil, crushed jira, curd, green chilli coarse paste and Spinach/Palak-garlic puree. Mix well.
  3. Add water slowly at a time and knead it into a stiff dough.
  4. Cover and keep aside for 20-30 minutes.
  5. In a wok, heat oil.
  6. Take small portion of dough and make a ball.
  7. Grease rolling board with little oil.
  8. Place a ball and Roll evenly from all the sides. It should be little thick.
  9. Fry Puris on medium low flame from all the sides till golden brown and fluffy.
  10. Serve hot with Potato curry or bhaji or Chole.
