ABOUT OATS PAYASAM RECIPE

A healthy option for payasam. You can serve it for breakfast too.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Oats ..... 2 tbsp.
  2. Ghee .... 1 tbsp.
  3. Jaggery ... 3 tbsp. ( or as per your taste)
  4. Salt ............. 1 pinch
  5. Cardamoms ..... 2 Slightly crushed
  6. Cumin seeds .... 1/4 tsp
  7. Pistachios ...... 3-4 ( sliced for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Put the cardamoms and oats. Stir fry for 1 minute on low flame until you get the aroma.
  2. Add 2 cups water and let it boil. Stir in the jaggery and cumin seeds. (do not fry the cumin seeds-just add them while boiling)
  3. Simmer until thick and you get the desired consistency. Garnish with pistachios and serve.
