Carrot Pistachio Baklava

Ingredients to make Carrot Pistachio Baklava

  • Flour/Maida 3/4cup
  • Wheatflour 1/4 cup
  • Baking powder 1/2tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Milk 1/4 cup
  • Butter 1/4 cup
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Water 3/4 cup
  • Gazar halwa
  • Cinnamon powder 1/4 tsp
  • Orange crust 1/2 tsp

How to make Carrot Pistachio Baklava

  1. Take a bowl, sieve the maida, baking powder and salt. Add milk, oil and mix well, knead into soft, smooth dough . Let it rest for 5minutes
  2. For sugar syrup. Mix until sugar dissolved..then add pinch of cinnamon powder and orange crust...and boil it for10 minutes on medium flame..
  3. Now take the smooth dough knead little again and cut into 3 pieces. Then divide every one ball into four balls
  4. Now roll every ball with rolling pin and make a sheet in size according to your baking tin and sprinkle some corn starch on every sheets (Doing this u can get total 12 sheets.)
  5. Grease the tin then place one sheet and sprinkle some pistachio..take another sheet on this..likewise take all 5sheets..then add carrot halwa and take another sheets accordingly previous sheets...
  6. In last cut it into desired shape and pour melted butter..
  7. Bake it for 10 minutes in preheated oven at 180°
  8. Let it cool and enjoy!
My Tip: Adding orange crust and cinnamon powder gives baklava a wonderful aroma and taste..
