Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Bread 4 slices
  2. Gram flour 1/2 cup
  3. Mix vegetables (capsicum, carrot, beans, green peas, onion, etc.) 1 cup
  4. Red chutney (garlic- red chilli chutney) 2 tablespoon
  5. Coriander-cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Lemon wedge
  8. Sugar 1 teaspoon
  9. Salt as per taste
  10. Ginger paste 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Curry leaves 5-6
  12. Green chillies 1-2
  13. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  14. Asafoetida (Hing) pinchful
  15. Oil 2 tablespoon
  16. Coriander leaves for garnishing
  17. Grated coconut for garnishing

Instructions

  1. First of all, with help of a bowl, cut out round shapes of bread and keep aside
  2. To make stuffing, add 1/2 tablespoon oil in pan. Once hot, add some ginger paste and 1 tablespoon red cutney and fry for a while.
  3. Then add all the vegetables (finely chopped) and fry untill they are cooked.
  4. Add salt and coriander-cumin powder to it. Finally add some coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
  5. To make Dhokla batter, mix gram flour, remaining ginger paste, salt, 1 teaspoon sugar and baking soda.
  6. Add water to make a lump-free batter of thick consistency.
  7. Add 1-2 tablespoon stuffing on each bread piece and place it on Idli-maker plate greased with some oil
  8. Add water in Idli vessel and allow it to come to a boil
  9. Once all bread pieces are placed, add lemon juice to batter and mix it quickly.
  10. Immediatelt pour batter on each piece and steam them for around 15 minutes.
  11. Once cooked properly, cut them out and give them proper round shape
  12. To make tadka, add remaining oil to small pan. Once hot, add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves and chopped green chillies. Switch the flame off and pour this tempering on each dhokla.
  13. Garnish it with some coriander leaves (finely chopped) and grated coconut. Bharela Dhokla ready thay!!!
