Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. :curry:For idly batter :curry:
  2. Idly rice 4 cups
  3. Urud dhal 1 cup
  4. Sago [tapioca pearls] 1/2 cups
  5. Fenugreek seeds 1 tsp
  6. Salt
  7. Baking soda - 1/8 th tsp
  8. :curry:For Idly sambar:curry:
  9. Toor dhal 1 cup
  10. Onion 1
  11. Tomato 2
  12. Turmeric powder - 1/8 th tsp
  13. Tamarind pulp - 1 tsp
  14. Vegetables 100 gm, chopped [drumsticks, tomatoes, lady fingers]
  15. Sambar powder - 2 tbsp
  16. Salt
  17. Jaggery - 1 tsp
  18. oil
  19. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  20. Coriander, curry leaves [handful]
  21. Dry chilli - 2
  22. hing pinch
  23. :curry:For coriander chutney :curry:
  24. Coconut 3 pieces
  25. Coriander leaves 1/4 bunch
  26. Onion 1 small
  27. Green chilli 1
  28. Salt
  29. Suger pinch
  30. :curry:For idly podi,:curry:
  31. Chenna dhal 3 tsp
  32. Urud dhal 2 TSP
  33. Dry Chillies 6
  34. hing pinch
  35. Garlic 3 pods
  36. sesame seeds 2tsp
  37. Peanuts 1 tsp
  38. Salt as required
  39. Jaggery 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak idly rice , urud dhal, sago, sesame seeds for 4 hours and grind it and let it fermented for 6 to 8 hours ...
  2. Now heat idly pot with water and add salt and baking soda in batter then pour batter in played and stream it for 10 min then unmould it and serve
  3. For idly sambar :curry::curry: In boiled dhal add vegetables, tomatoes, turmerid pulp, sambar podi, turmeric , salt , jagerry and cook for 15 min then seasoning it with mustard, dry chilli, hing, onion curry leaves and serve ...
  4. For coriander chutney :curry::curry: Grind coconut, onion, coriander, green chilli, salt in to fine paste and serve
  5. For idly podi:curry::curry: Dry roast chenna dhal, urud dhal, dry chillies, garlic, salt, hing, sesame seeds, peanuts then let it cool and grind it with jaggery then serve it with oil or ghee
