Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups rice flour
  2. Salt as per taste
  3. 1 carrot finely grated
  4. 1 medium onion finely chopped
  5. 3 green chillies finely chopped
  6. 1 bunch dill leaves finely chopped /sabbasige soppu
  7. Hot water
  8. Oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add rice flour, salt, finely chopped onion, finely grated carrot, finely chopped green chillies and finely chopped dill leaves. Mix well
  2. In a pan heat water. It should boil nicely.
  3. Now pour in hot water little by little to the rice flour mix.
  4. With the help of a ladle keep mixing the rice flour mix. (As the water is hot it will burn your hands).
  5. Mix it to this consistency. Note: as you have added onions, it will leave water. So make sure you don't add too much water or don't leave the mixed rotti flour for too long. It becomes bit watery and difficult to roll out with fingers.
  6. Grease your hands and palm with oil and make equal sized balls.
  7. Now take a sheet and grease it well. Take a ball of rotti mix.
  8. Now with help of your fingers evenly spread the rotti to the size and thickness you need.
  9. Now heat the tava nicely. Grease the tava with oil. Transfer the rotti to the tava and cook on both sides.
  10. Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
