ABOUT Muffin Style Dal Makhani Naan RECIPE

Traditionally it is a Punjabi Indian Dish but I make it as a starter . It is best suitable for the breakfast. It keeps the stomach full for the longer period. Since breakfast should be heavy as compared to other two meals . This is completely my innovation which was a hit at my place.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For Dal Makhani :
  2. 2 Cups Whole Black Urad
  3. 1 cup Rajma
  4. 1 tbsp oil
  5. Water as per the requirement
  6. Salt as per the taste
  7. 1/2 Cup Butter
  8. 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds
  9. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  10. A pinch of asafoetida
  11. Red pepper powder as per the taste
  12. 1 tsp Kashmiri Lal Mirch
  13. 1 tbsp DalMakhani Masala Powder
  14. 1 tsp Fresh Garlic Chopped
  15. 2 Big Sized Onions Chopped
  16. 3 Medium Sized Tomatoes Chopped
  17. 1/4 Cup Cilantro leaves chopped
  18. For Muffin Naan :
  19. 2 cups All purpose flour
  20. 2 tsp sugar
  21. 1 tsp Baking powder
  22. 1 tsp Salt
  23. 3 tbsp yogurt
  24. 1/2 cup warm milk
  25. 1 tbsp oil
  26. Water as per the requirement
  27. For garnishing :
  28. 1/4 cup butter
  29. Some fresh coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. For Dal Makhani:
  2. Add Urad and Rajma in a Pressure cooker
  3. Add sufficient amount of water into it
  4. Soak them for 5 hours
  5. After 5 hours put the pressure cooker on Gas
  6. Add 1 tbsp Salt into it
  7. Add oil into it
  8. Boil it for 5-6 whistles or till they become soft
  9. Heat a wok and add butter into it
  10. Add Fenugreek seeds and splutter them
  11. Add turmeric powder
  12. Add Chopped Garlic and Onions together
  13. Sauté them till onions become translucent
  14. Add Kashmiri Degi Mirch
  15. Add Dal Makhani Masala
  16. Add Tomatoes and sauté them till becomes soft
  17. Add Salt to taste
  18. Add pepper powder to taste
  19. Transfer this mixture into the Pressure cooker
  20. Let it cook for 10 minutes on medium to high flame
  21. For Muffin Naan:
  22. Mix all the ingredients except water
  23. Add water accordingly to make a semi stiff dough
  24. Rest it for 30 minutes
  25. Preheat the oven at 375 Fahrenheit
  26. After 30 minutes knead it again
  27. Roll out the dough
  28. With the help of cookie cutter Cut them
  29. Now take an aluminum Muffin Mould
  30. Grease the moulds from the inside
  31. Put the cut portion of dough inside the muffin Mould
  32. Prick them with the help of tooth pick to avoid them from puffing up
  33. Repeat it for all the dough
  34. Bake them for 10 minutes or till they turned light brown in colour
  35. Let them cool down
  36. Now pour the Dal Makhani into them
  37. For Garnishing:
  38. Garnish with Coriander leaves
  39. Add a dollop of butter
  40. Your Muffin Style Dal Makhani Naan is ready to serve
