ABOUT Mango Idli RECIPE

Quick breakfast which does not involve overnight soaking or grinding.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 3/4 cup roasted semolina (suji rava)
  2. 3/4 cup mango pulp
  3. 1/4 cup sugar
  4. 1/4 cup thick curd
  5. 1/4 cup water
  6. 1/4 tsp baking soda
  7. 1/4 tsp Salt
  8. Few cashews roasted in ghee
  9. 1 tsp Ghee for greasing

Instructions

  1. Dry roast rava till it's slightly browned. I used pre-roasted rava from the store
  2. Add rava, mango pulp, sugar, curd and water and mix well to form a smooth batter.
  3. Cover and set aside for 15 mins.
  4. Heat water in a idli steamer.
  5. Add baking soda and salt to the mixture and fold well
  6. Grease the idli mould and place the cashews on each mould
  7. Spoon the batter on top of the cashews and steam for 10-15 minutes.
  8. It's done when a knife or toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the steamer and let it cool for 5 mins
  10. Remove from mould and serve
