ABOUT kozhukatta.( rice balls) RECIPE

This is a traditional breakfast dish usually made in kerala & Tamil nadu, though the process of making differs a bit. it s made with rice flour , & coconut. it goes well with coconut chutney or with just sugar.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. Grated coconut 3/4 cup
  3. Onion 1 chopped
  4. Red Chillies 2
  5. Curry leaves a few
  6. Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  7. Jeera 2 pinch
  8. red chillies 2 chopped.
  9. oil 2 tbsp
  10. water 2 cups.
  11. Salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan with 1 tbsp of oil . add mustard seeds. & jeera.
  2. then add chopped onion, chillies & curry leaves. fry for sometime.
  3. add 2 cups of water & salt. let it boil.
  4. when it s boiling add the coconut & rice flour . stir well without any lumps.
  5. remove from fire . let it cool .apply some oil on hands & make a smooth dough.
  6. make small balls. steam in a steamer for 5 min.
  7. serve hot with chutney.
