Ingredients to make Keema Bhare Karele

  • Bitter gourd- 6
  • Minced chicken meat (Crushed Soyabeans is the option for Vegetarians)- 1 cup
  • Onions- 2
  • Garam Masala- 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste- 1 tsp
  • Kishmish- a handful
  • Salt- as required
  • Tamarind pulp- 1 tsp
  • Oil- as required

How to make Keema Bhare Karele

  1. Give only one cut to karela, clean from inside remove the seeds, wash thoroughly, sprinkle salt and keep aside. Heat the pan add 2 table spoons of oil, add the onions saute till golden brown, add ginger garlic paste and the keema.
  2. Cook for 10-15 minutes add the kishmish, tamarind pulp and salt mix well and keep aside,Squeeze the karelas and wipe with a clean cloth from inside and outside. Stuff with the keema stuffing,
  3. Heat a pan add one teaspoon oil and shallow fry the karelas till they become tender and are cook nicely, Serve with Roti or fulkas.

My Tip:

Tamrind pulp+kishmish will give little sweet n sour taste to bitter karela.
