ABOUT Bombay grilled sandwich RECIPE

These veggie sandwich have become my families favourite breakfast. This is a popular sandwich available in streets of Mumbai.The freshly grounded masala sprinkled generously on the sandwich gives an amazimg flavour and taste.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 6 sandwich bread slices
  2. 1 potato boiled and sliced
  3. 1 small beetroot boiled and sliced
  4. 1 tomato sliced
  5. Generous amount of butter
  6. For chutney :
  7. 1/2 bunch Coriander leaves
  8. 1/4 bunch mint Leaves
  9. 1 tsp chat masala
  10. 1 tsp lemon juice
  11. 1 green chilli
  12. Salt
  13. For masala :
  14. 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  15. 1 tsp Chat masala
  16. 4 tsp Cumin seeds
  17. 1 clove
  18. 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
  19. Salt

Instructions

  1. Blend the ingredients given under chutney. Set aside
  2. Dry roast the spices mentioned under masala just for few minutes.
  3. Powder it finely.
  4. Take a slice and spread butter generously at one side.
  5. Spread the chutney on the other side.
  6. Place the potato slices and tomatoes.
  7. Sprinkle the freshly grounded masala.
  8. Place another bread with butter spreaded over.
  9. Arrange beetroot slices.
  10. Sprinkle the masala all over.
  11. You can add cheese if needed.
  12. Cover with another slice of bread with the chutney side touching the beet.Spread butter on top.
  13. Heat a pan and grill both the sides of the sandwich with buttered sides down.
  14. Serve with tomato ketchup.
