About Chana Masala Recipe

Another dish which comes in my mind, when I recall my travel diaries. Chana masala which is best accompanied with butter naan.

Chana Masala

Ingredients to make Chana Masala

  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas
  • 3 medium sized onions thinly sliced
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 2 green chillies minced
  • 3 tsp chana masala powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp amchur
  • oil as required
  • salt as per taste

How to make Chana Masala

  1. Grind the onions and tomatoes into a fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add green chillies and ginger garlic paste. Saute for a minute.
  3. Add the sliced onions and saute for about 2 minutes. Add the puree and chana masala to it. Cook for a while.
  4. Add garam masala, amchur and mix. Then add the chickpeas and salt. Add water if required but it is best to keep it dry.
  5. Serve hot with butter naan or your favourite kulcha.

My Tip:

Add 1 tsp lemon juice to it.
