Ingredients to make Palak puri

  • wheat flour - 1 cup
  • spinach / palak - 250 gms
  • spinach / palak - 250 gms
  • Ajwain / carom seeds - a pinch
  • Manrail / onion seeds - a pinch
  • clarified butter - 2 tbsp
  • oil - for deep frying

How to make Palak puri

  1. Wash the spinach and blanch in the pressure cooker
  2. Cool down for some time then grind the squeeze palak/spinach and make a fine paste.
  3. In a kneading bowl mix wheat flour,spinach paste,carom seeds,onion seeds salt and clarified butter.
  4. Make a soft dough.
  5. Keep aside for 15 mins.
  6. Divide the dough into a ball.
  7. Flatten the ball into thin round puri.
  8. Heat enough oil in a pan and add the palak puri.
  9. Lower the heat and fry till light brown.
  10. serve hot
