ABOUT Dal pakvan RECIPE

The most famous sindhi break fast.dal pakwan is a traditional sindhi snack.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Oil 1 tbsp
  2. 1/4 tsp hing
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. 2 green chilli
  5. 1 cup soaked bengal gram ( 1 hour)
  6. Haldi 1/4 tsp
  7. Salt
  8. Chilli powder 1 tsp
  9. Sukha dhaniya 1 tsp
  10. Amchoor 1 tsp
  11. Chopped coriender
  12. For pakwan
  13. 2 cup refined flour
  14. 1/2 tsp carom seeds
  15. Salt
  16. Oil

Instructions

  1. Soak chane ki Dal for 1 hr in water and then cook it in a pressure cooker for 1 whistle. While cooking add salt, hing and turmeric.
  2. After that take oil in a pan and add jeera and kadipatta. Then add red chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder and jeera powder.
  3. Add Dal to it and cook for some time and then add coriander leaves.
  4. For pakwan - Take 2 cups maida and add 3 tablespoon oil, ajwain and salt.
  5. Make a soft dough with water and then cover it with wet cloth and keep aside for an hour. Then take a small ball of dough and make a roti and deep fry it on medium to low flame.
  6. For serving use coriander leaves, onions, tamarind chutney and pudhina chutney in the Dal and serve hot with pakwan.
