Ingredients to make Soft Dinner Rolls

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon instant dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter

How to make Soft Dinner Rolls

  1. Whisk together flour, yeast and salt.
  2. Combine water, milk and butter.
  3. Add to flour mix and knead for 6 to 8 minutes till you get a soft elastic dough.
  4. Cover and keep for 15 minutes. Knead again for 5 minutes. The dough should be supple and smooth.
  5. Grease one 8 inch round cake pan. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  6. Divide dough into 12 equal size balls. Arrange in the pan. Cover and leave it to rise for 1 hour or until double.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or till the rolls turn golden.
  8. Remove from the pan and brush the tops with butter.

My Tip:

Knead the dough till it becomes soft and supple. Keep adding as much water as you can handle while kneading.

Hi Namita, this looks yummy.I have a question, isn't there a need for keeping the yeast to rise and then using it or have you used it directly .Thanks for your help

Instant yeast does not require rehydration and can be used directly
